A Doula is a "Professional Childbirth Assistant". She is there to provide emotional, physical and informational support. She is familiar with childbirth and is comfortable with the natural aspects of laboring and birthing.

She provides a constant source of emotional support for both the birthing mother and the partner. She helps with physical comfort by offering massage, counter pressure or helping the birthing mother maintain different laboring and birthing positions.

She is trained in the natural and medical aspects of childbirth and can give unbiased objective suggestions and information for the birthing couple to best attain there desired birthing experience.

The doula protects the birth "space" and helps to protect the memory of the birth in a positive way.  She gives and loves fully and unconditionally. 

Her desire is for the birthing couple to feel empowered with the birthing woman's abilities, choices, and over all accomplishment of, probably, the most emotional and physical challenging event in her life. Childbirth brings forth three new lives: A Child, a Mother and a Family.

My Doula services: I provide doula services on a sliding scale fee of $850-1,350. 

My services include:

• 1 complimentary interview in your home approximately 1 hour
• 1 prenatal visit in your home approximately 2 hours
• Unlimited phone support 24 hours on call availability
• Continuous support during the labor and birth
• 1-2 hours immediately post birth, including help with breastfeeding if desired
• Optional photographs 
• Birth story of the time line of events
